About the Northcote Early Parenting Centre

The Northcote Early Parenting Centre will feature:

  • 10 overnight family units
  • consulting rooms
  • shared kitchen and dining areas
  • multi-purpose room
  • playroom and various outdoor spaces
  • onsite carparking.

Main construction on the multi-million-dollar centre will get underway later this year. It takes around 12 months to construct an Early Parenting Centre.

How can I access an Early Parenting Centre (EPC)?

Services are provided at no cost to families and caregivers who are assessed as needing some extra support to reach their parenting goals.

Families and caregivers can choose to attend any centre within the EPC network.

Referrals to EPCs are usually from maternal and child health services, maternity services, general practitioners, Child FIRST and Child Protection.

About the Early Parenting Centres expansion and upgrade program

The EPC we're building in Northcote is one of eleven new or upgraded facilities being delivered through the Victorian Government's early parenting centres expansion and upgrade program.

The program is delivering:

  • upgrades to two existing EPCs in Footscray (complete) and Noble Park (complete)
  • nine new EPCs in growing areas across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.
