Scope
The Echuca Cancer and Wellness Centre redevelopment delivered:
- a new purpose-built centre
- 12 co-located chemotherapy/haemodialysis treatment chairs
- improved amenity, access and comfort for patients
- a more efficient working environment for staff
- additional consulting spaces
- capacity to provide wellness programs for patients.
Benefits
The Echuca Cancer and Wellness Centre redevelopment aimed to achieve the following benefits:
Improved amenity
The new centre was designed to provide a range of improvements for patients. These included better access and comfort while undergoing chemotherapy treatment and haemodialysis services.
Better access to services
The new facility aimed to improve access to consultations from haematologists, medical oncologists, nephrologists and radiation oncologists for more than 1200 patients each year. It also provides a better working environment for doctors, nurses and other hospital staff.
Convenience
Patients can access consultations with haematologists, medical oncologists, nephrologists and radiation oncologists, all conveniently located in one location.
Jobs for Victorians
The project created approximately 25 construction jobs.
