Mernda Community Hospital taking shape

The façade of the multi-million-dollar Mernda Community Hospital (formerly the City of Whittlesea Community Hospital) is complete.

In this video, take a look at the completed façade and significant progress made on the small public hospital in 2024.

The facade is designed to ensure plenty of natural light can fill internal spaces. It is inspired by the Plenty River, indigenous grasslands, and scar trees.

The Mernda Community Hospital will be managed by Northern Health. When it opens, it will have extended opening hours and provide care for unplanned, non-emergency moments.

A range of everyday health services will be available including chemotherapy, chronic disease management, and women’s health.

Construction is on track to be completed in 2025.
