Designs released for the City of Whittlesea Community Hospital

We’ve released designs for the new City of Whittlesea Community Hospital. The artist impressions reveal the facility’s exteriors, main reception and waiting area.

The designs have been carefully considered to create a safe and welcoming environment for patients, children and staff. This was a key priority of the community identified through consultation.

The project’s community consultative committee provided input and feedback that helped shape the design of the facility. The committee included community members, Northern Health, City of Whittlesea Council and other key groups.

About the City of Whittlesea Community Hospital

The City of Whittlesea Community Hospital will provide a range of integrated community health and specialist services. These will include:

  • unplanned urgent care
  • mental health services
  • dialysis
  • general practice
  • maternal, family and early childhood services
  • dental
  • chronic disease management.

The hospital will be operated by Northern Health. It will take pressure off nearby major hospitals including Northern Hospital in Epping. This will allow Northern Hospital to focus on critical care and acute health issues, emergency care and more complex surgeries and procedures.

Site preparation works are now underway to get the site ready with construction expected to be completed in 2024.
