Designs released for Craigieburn Community Hospital

We’ve released the designs for the new Craigieburn Community Hospital. They reveal the facility’s exterior, main reception and waiting area.

The designs were created with input from the project’s community consultative committee. They were carefully considered to create a safe and comfortable environment for staff, patients and families.

Some of the community’s priorities that were incorporated into the designs included:

  • selecting materials that will not weather or age over time
  • using native plants
  • ensuring plenty of natural light.

About the Craigieburn Community Hospital

Community members, Northern Health, and other key groups helped shape the look and feel of the new community hospital. Feedback was gathered through the project’s community consultative committee.

Operated by Northern Health, the facility will offer a range of everyday health services. This will include after-hours care for minor, non-emergency medical issues such as the bumps, cuts and bruises associated with everyday life.

It will help take the pressure off major hospitals such as Northern Hospital Epping. This will enable the major hospitals to focus on critical care, complex surgeries, emergencies and trauma.

Construction on the new community hospital is underway, and due to be completed in 2024.
