Designs released for Cranbourne Community Hospital

We’ve released the designs for the new Cranbourne Community Hospital, revealing the facility’s exteriors, main reception, waiting areas and public courtyard.

The designs have been carefully considered to create a safe and welcoming environment. This was identified as a key priority of the community through our consultations.

Waiting and reception areas have been designed to ‘bring the outside in’. This will be achieved through plenty of natural light and native planting that will be visible from inside the hospital.

Acknowledging the importance of green space to communities, the hospital grounds will include:

  • a First Nations garden
  • nature play area
  • quiet healing garden.

About the Cranbourne Community Hospital

Community members, Monash Health, City of Casey and other key groups helped shape the look and feel of this vital facility through the project’s community consultative committee.

The Cranbourne Community Hospital will be operated by Monash Health. The facility will offer a range of everyday health services. These will include after-hours care for minor, non-emergency medical issues such as the bumps, cuts and bruises associated with everyday life.

It will help take the pressure off major hospitals such as Casey Hospital. This will enable the major hospitals to focus on critical care, complex surgeries, emergencies and trauma.

Construction on the new community hospital is underway, and due to be completed in 2024.
