First stage of the Phillip Island Community Hospital is open for business

Local families and holidaymakers to Phillip Island now have greater access to everyday healthcare on their doorstep, with the first stage of the multi-million-dollar Phillip Island Community Hospital complete.

A bigger and better Urgent Care Centre is the first service to begin operating from the new multi-storey building delivered as part of the project.

The Urgent Care Centre will provide after-hours care for minor, non-emergency injuries like bumps, cuts and bruises, mild infections and suspected fractures.

The site infrastructure allows for a range of services to be delivered once fully operational, including:

  • chemotherapy
  • dialysis
  • day surgery
  • CT scans, ultrasound and general x-ray.

These services will open progressively.

The second stage of the project will transform the existing Urgent Care Centre into dental treatment areas.

The Phillip Island Community Hospital is managed by Bass Coast Health. Builder SJ Higgins is constructing the multi-million-dollar project.
