[End of transcript]

The Ballarat YPARC centre has been designed as a welcoming, safe and therapeutic environment that promotes rest and recovery.

The YPARC centre features:

  • 10 private bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms
  • communal kitchen, dining and living areas
  • breakout spaces
  • landscaped outdoor garden areas.

Operated by Grampians Health, the project has been delivered as part of the Victorian Government’s $141 million investment to expand and upgrade youth prevention and recovery care services across the state.

About the YPARC centre expansion and upgrade program

The Ballarat YPARC centre is part of the Victorian Government’s youth prevention and recovery care centre expansion and upgrade program.

The YPARC centre expansion and upgrade program is a $141 million investment to deliver five new centres and refurbish three centres across the state.

The program is a direct response to key recommendations from the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System to reduce pressure on hospitals by offering early intervention care as an alternative to acute hospital admission.

Once complete, the YPARC centre expansion and upgrade program will provide care for approximately 900 young people each year.

Find out more about the YPARC expansion and upgrade program.

Jobs for Victorians

The YPARC centre expansion and upgrade program has supported around 200 construction industry jobs across the program.
