Pakenham Community Hospital reaches new heights

A major milestone has been reached on the Pakenham Community Hospital build with the main structure of the new public hospital now complete.

The building’s striking red tessellated facade and internal fit-out will now progress, with the facility on track to be completed in 2026.

The new small public hospital located at 5 Drake Place will give people who are not critically unwell better access to everyday health services, closer to home.

Did you know?

  • more than 55,000 hours have been worked to date on the new public hospital
  • around 3,200 cubic metres of concrete and a whopping 330 tonnes of steel reinforcement more than the average weight of a Boeing 747 have been used in the new three-storey structure.

Access to health services, closer to home

When open, the Pakenham Community Hospital will be operated by Monash Health. It will include two levels of clinical spaces providing the infrastructure for a number of services to be delivered including:

  • allied health and rehabilitation
  • diagnostics like pathology and imaging
  • public dental
  • chemotherapy
  • dialysis
  • urgent care.

About the Pakenham Community Hospital

The project will also deliver ground-level parking and a patient drop off zone outside the main entry providing convenient access for patients, visitors, and staff.

Within walking distance of the Pakenham town centre and train station, the hospital will complement nearby shops and services.
