Rutherglen aged care facility ready to welcome residents

Construction is complete on a $57.11 million aged care facility in Rutherglen.

The project involved relocating the Glenview Community Care Nursing Home to a new site at 33-45 Main Street, Rutherglen. The bigger site allowed the facility to expand from 40 to 50 beds while giving residents their own rooms with private ensuite bathrooms.

Helping residents feel at home, rooms are grouped into smaller households with dedicated kitchen, dining, lounge and sitting areas.

The new facility, operated by Glenview Health, also features a community room, reflection room and other common areas for residents to interact with each other and their family and friends.

Dementia-friendly and green design

The dementia-friendly design of the multi-million-dollar facility creates a setting that promotes dignity and independence so residents can ‘age in place’.

The design of the aged care facility also considered the positive impact green spaces has on physical and mental wellbeing. Open area views and an abundance of natural light truly make the aged care facility feel like home.

The project was delivered in partnership with Glenview Health and builder Zauner Construction.
