Take a look at the bigger, better Maryborough and District Hospital

Major construction on a massive expansion of the Maryborough and District Hospital is complete.

So far, the $115 million project has delivered:

a new Urgent Care Centre
a 32-bed inpatient ward
a maternity unit
two operating theatres and recovery spaces
a day medical centre with imaging, pharmacy, oncology, dialysis and infusion services
consultant suites for outpatient services
off-street carparking.

Once patients move into the new hospital, the final phase of works will start. These works will improve the hospital’s main entrance with a large turning circle and more accessible carparking.

The final phase of the project also involves removing the old Urgent Care Centre and other buildings to make way for the restoration of the original 1860s hospital façade, a pedestrian ramp to the main entrance and native landscaping. 

The project is being delivered by the Victorian Health Building Authority in partnership with the Maryborough District Health Service and builder Fairbrother Construction.

It will enable Maryborough’s dedicated doctors and nurses to treat an additional 4,000 patients every year.
