About the Wantirna residential aged care facility
The four-storey residential aged care facility will be home to 120 residents, each enjoying the dignity and independence of their own private bedroom, complete with ensuites.
A dedicated community room, café, sacred space, and multiple common areas will also help facilitate social interactions between residents, staff, and visitors.
With a focus on mobility and dementia-friendly design, the facility will cater to the more complex needs of its residents. Thoughtful design touches such as memory boxes with personal items at the entrance of each room will help residents feel safe and at home.
The facility will also feature large windows, providing an abundance of natural light and landscape views, in recognition of how our natural environment has a positive impact on physical and mental wellbeing.
Operated by Eastern Health, the new facility will connect to the existing Wantirna Health site to ensure easy access to palliative aged care, allied health, and support services.
Construction is expected to be complete in late 2022.
