Award win for the Emergency Department Modular Hospitals Procurement Program

Our Emergency Department Modular Hospitals Procurement Program has been recognised at the 2022 Project Management Achievement Awards.

Held in late October, the awards were presented by the Australian Institute of Project Management.

The award acknowledges our collaboration with Aurecon. Together, we designed and constructed three highly technical, modular hospital emergency departments.

The emergency departments aimed to address capacity challenges at:

  • Northern Hospital
  • Werribee Hospital
  • Casey Hospital.

The facilities were delivered in record time and can be repurposed to suit emerging needs.

Congratulations to all those involved in this extraordinary project.

Role of built environment in responding to climate change

At the iX Summit Sydney-2022 conference in November, our Environmental Sustainability Manager, Tiernan Humphrys, led a discussion on the role of the built environment in responding to climate change.

'What we need to do in the built environment is not a technology issue. We know what we need to do and that the technologies exist. But the systems and processes we work within unfortunately prioritise the use of carbon. Thankfully we are seeing increasingly more commitment to tackle climate change and the Victorian Health Building Authority is working hard to deliver on these commitments. But there is still more work needed across the built environment sector to progress towards systemic decarbonisation.'
