A more-than-$8-million transformation of the Bendigo Community Health Services campus at Eaglehawk is now complete.
The community health facility upgrade is the biggest single investment in community health in Bendigo.
The Eaglehawk site is designed to be a welcoming and inclusive place where locals can receive the care they need.
The project has refurbished and upgraded key spaces including:
- GP rooms
- treatment rooms
- counselling rooms
- podiatry rooms
- physiotherapy rooms
- a fully equipped exercise physiology gym.
There is also a community room available for hire by groups that foster health, wellbeing and community connections.
Community health
Community health is an essential part of the healthcare mix, and especially for people who face barriers to accessing care.
Bendigo Community Health Services started in Eaglehawk in 1974, and the site is their primary medical and allied health centre.
Consultation helped to ensure the upgraded centre meets the needs of community now and into the future.
After two years of building works, staff and clients started using the modern building in early August 2025.
The project
The project received more than $7.7 million from the Victorian Government’s Regional Health Infrastructure Fund.
Bendigo Community Health Services contributed $872,150 – making this game-changing project a reality.
The health service delivered the project with Evidence Based Design Architects and builder Franklin & Walsh.
