Home-like living
The facility is designed to feel like a home, and help residents stay independent.
Each of the 30 bedrooms have their own ensuite bathroom. The bedrooms are grouped into small ‘households’, each with their own kitchen, dining, lounge and sitting areas.
Shared spaces
There will also be shared spaces like a community room, reflection room, café, and personal care room. These spaces give residents and their families more places to relax and interact.
Community at heart
Once the new aged care facility is complete in 2027, and residents move into their light and bright new home, the project will also refurbish Buckland House including office spaces and activity rooms for community use.
Local jobs
More than 520 workers and trades have contributed to the project so far - providing a boost to the local economy.
Better care, closer to home
The new Mansfield aged care facility is part of a bigger plan by the Victorian Government to revitalise aged care in regional and rural areas.
By refurbishing existing facilities and building new ones, more older Victorians can ‘age in place’ and stay closer to their communities.
