New ambulance branch opens in Melton

Ambulance resources in Melbourne’s west have been given a boost with a new 24-hour ambulance branch now open in Melton.

The Melton West Ambulance Branch features:

  • a four-bay ambulance garage
  • four rest and recline areas
  • training facilities
  • a fully equipped kitchen
  • secure on-site staff parking.

The location of the new branch on High Street, Melton allows easy access to main roads and major sites including schools, shopping precincts and community facilities.

Ambulance Victoria Development Program

The Victorian Government has committed around $249 million since 2015 to upgrade and rebuild ambulance branches. The new and upgraded buildings will provide better working conditions for paramedics and ensure lifesaving emergency care is available for all Victorians.

In addition to the new Melton Ambulance Branch, there are a further 10 ambulance branches under construction across the state including in:

  • Clyde North
  • Craigieburn
  • Epping
  • Foster
  • Gisborne
  • Inglewood
  • Karingal
  • Morwell
  • Oak Park
  • Rochester.
