New ambulance branch opens in Lilydale

Ambulance resources in Melbourne’s outer east have been given a boost with a new 24-hour ambulance branch now open in Lilydale.

The state-of-the-art ambulance branch is located on Charles Road, Lilydale and features:

  • a five-bay ambulance garage
  • six rest and recline areas
  • training facilities
  • a fully equipped kitchen
  • secure on-site staff parking.

The location of the new branch on Charles Road allows ease of access to main roads and major sites including schools, shopping precincts and community facilities.

Ambulance Victoria development program

The Victorian Government has committed around $249 million since 2015-16 to upgrade and rebuild ambulance stations. This investment provides better working conditions for paramedics and ensures lifesaving emergency care is available for all Victorians.

In addition to the new Lilydale ambulance branch, a further 14 ambulance branches are under construction or about to be built, including:

  • Clyde North
  • Melton South
  • Moe
  • Mornington
  • Warragul.
