In total, 250 concrete trucks have visited the site to complete six concrete pours during works, with 102 columns installed and 57,690 hours works by 470 workers. With the major structural works now complete, construction will progress to the hospital’s façade installation and internal fit out.
Located at 140 Dunnings Road in the heart of Point Cook, the purpose-built facility will provide everyday health services, closer to home for Melbourne’s growing outer west. Once operational, the Point Cook Community Hospital will deliver links to specialists, community health providers and social support services.
The Point Cook Community Hospital will be managed by Western Health. The new three-storey facility will include:
- chemotherapy
- dialysis
- public dental
- urgent care.
The project will help take pressure off nearby major hospitals, including Footscray and Sunshine hospitals, and enable more people to manage their health needs closer to home.
Point Cook Community Hospital is part of the Victorian Government’s $800 million dollar investment to build community hospitals in major growth areas.
