Hospitals and health services across Victoria will soon receive state-of-the-art medical equipment upgrades, thanks to a major investment from the Victorian Government.
Through the $35 million Medical Equipment Replacement Program ten projects across eight health services will receive funding to replace and upgrade critical diagnostic and surgical equipment.
The Medical Equipment Replacement Program supports safe, modern, and reliable services for patients across the state - ensuring hospitals can keep pace with growing demand while reducing service interruptions and improving care outcomes.
What’s being funded
Projects funded through this round include:
- upgraded imaging and scanning equipment to support early diagnosis and treatment of conditions such as cancer and heart disease
- equipment to improve neurosurgical and ENT (ear, nose and throat) procedures
- technology to support complex treatments such as transplants, trauma care, and epilepsy surgery
- improved nuclear medicine services for faster, more accurate diagnosis
- equipment upgrades to improve patient flow and support specialised care.
