Sites named, builders appointed and construction progressing on new ambulance branches
New ambulance branches are taking shape across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.
Work is underway on new ambulance branches in Epping and Oak Park, while builders have been named for new builds in Craigieburn, Foster and Gisborne.
These developments mean paramedics will have the facilities and support they need to respond quickly to local emergencies.
Epping
Construction is underway on a new multi-million-dollar ambulance branch on McDonalds Road, Epping.
The project involves knocking down the existing and outdated ambulance branch on McDonalds Road. A new, fit for purpose branch will be built in its place.
The new branch will include:
- a five-bay ambulance garage
- six rest and recline areas
- training facilities
- a fully equipped kitchen
- improved security and car parking.
Construction is being overseen by Bowden Corporation.

Oak Park
Construction has kicked off on a multi-million-dollar ambulance branch on Strachan Street, Oak Park.
The location of the new branch on Strachan Street allows ease of access to main roads and major sites including schools, shopping precincts and community facilities.
The new branch will include:
- a six-bay ambulance garage
- six rest and recline areas
- training facilities
- a fully equipped kitchen
- improved security and car parking.
Construction is being overseen by May Constructions.

Craigieburn
May Constructions has been appointed to build the new multi-million-dollar ambulance branch in Craigieburn.
The location on Sustainable Drive allows ease of access to main roads and major sites including schools, shopping precincts and community facilities.
The new branch will include:
- a four-bay ambulance garage
- four rest and recline areas
- training facilities
- a fully equipped kitchen
- improved security and car parking.

Foster
Bowden Corporation has been appointed to build the new multi-million-dollar ambulance branch in Foster.
The project involves knocking down the existing and outdated ambulance branch on Station Road. A new, fit for purpose branch will be built in its place and an adjoining site.
The new branch will include:
- a three-bay ambulance garage
- two rest and recline areas
- training facilities
- a fully equipped kitchen
- improved security and car parking.
Gisborne
Bowden Corporation has been appointed to build the new ambulance branch in Gisborne.
The project involves knocking down the existing and outdated ambulance branch on Robertson Street. A new, fit for purpose branch will be built in its place.
The new branch will include:
- a four-bay ambulance garage
- four rest and recline areas
- training facilities
- a fully equipped kitchen
- improved security and car parking.
Ambulance Victoria development program
The Victorian Government has committed around $249 million since 2015 to upgrade and rebuild ambulance branches.
The new and upgraded buildings will provide better working conditions for paramedics and ensure lifesaving emergency care is available for all Victorians.
