Four leading construction companies have been shortlisted to deliver the final stage of the massive Ballarat Base Hospital redevelopment.
Built, Icon, John Holland and Multiplex will be vying to deliver the hospital’s new multi-level tower, which includes:
- a new emergency department
- a women’s and children’s hub
- state-of-the-art theatre suite
- a new helipad
- an extra 100 inpatient and short-stay beds.
The successful builder is expected to be announced in December 2023. Construction will start in early 2024.
Request for tender notice – car park expansion
A request for tender notice has also been released for the expansion of the multideck car park.
These works include adding around 400 car spaces to the existing multideck car park.
Works are expected to start in the coming months. They include moving the existing helipad. A new helipad will be positioned on top of the new multi-level tower with direct connection to the new emergency department and operating theatres.
Public and staff carparking will be moved to make way for construction of the new car park. A new temporary car park solution is currently being developed with Grampians Health and will be shared with the community.
Visit the Buying for Victoria website for more details.
Tender close: 1 June 2023 02:00 pm
