Funding strengthens health care in regional Victoria
Regional and rural health services will benefit from more modern healthcare through the latest round of the Regional Health Infrastructure Fund (RHIF).
43 regional and rural health services will share in $150 million in grant funding, helping them invest in modern facilities, equipment and infrastructure tailored to the needs of their local communities.
The latest round of funding will see 51 projects delivered across regional Victoria, including an urgent care centre extension to increase capacity at East Grampians Health Service, the replacement of important diagnostic and surgical equipment at Mildura Base Hospital and stage two of a medical clinic refurbishment for Dhauwurd Wurring Elderly and Community Health Service.
These projects are helping regional health services improve the quality and service capacity of care, while ensuring patients can access the services they need, closer to home.
The upgrades also support contemporary models of care, improve patient and staff experiences, and help health services attract and retain skilled workers in regional communities.
