Works underway at Numurkah’s new aged care site

Main works are powering ahead on Numurkah’s new $54.38 million aged care facility – an important project set to improve the quality of life for older Victorians in the Goulburn Valley.

Nicholson Construction are progressing on site, with earthworks and inground services now complete, concrete slabs poured, and structural frame installation underway.

New designs showcase a modern, purpose-built facility with:

  • 36 single bedrooms with private ensuites, grouped into ‘small households’ with kitchen, dining and lounge areas
  • flexible shared spaces and common areas for socialising and activities
  • landscaped sensory gardens and outdoor spaces
  • features to support a range of complex care and mobility needs, including for those living with dementia.

The new facility will be operated by NCN Health and will replace the ageing Pioneers Memorial Lodge.

The project is expected to create and sustain more than 160 construction industry jobs, with main works scheduled for completion in 2028.
