Dandenong Hospital upgrade on the way

Communities in Melbourne’s south-east can look forward to improved access to health care closer to home, with the Victorian Government investing $305 million to redevelop the Dandenong Hospital.

The redevelopment delivers new operating theatres, a new Intensive Care Unit, an upgraded day surgery admissions space and improved modern emergency department.

Once complete, it will expand bed capacity, delivering better and faster surgical care closer to home.

The modern facilities will also create more frontline jobs and support the hospital’s existing, dedicated workforce. It will also create hundreds of local jobs during construction.

Dandenong Hospital will remain operational throughout the redevelopment for continuity of patient care.

The Victorian Health Building Authority is working closely with Monash Health to minimise disruption.

This redevelopment is being delivered as part of the Hospital Infrastructure Delivery Fund.
