The Victorian Government is investing $320 million to establish the Hospital Infrastructure Delivery Fund.
The new fund will plan the delivery of improved infrastructure at seven public hospitals in metropolitan and regional Victoria, including:
a new hospital and public sector residential aged care facility for West Gippsland
a new Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Ringwood East
expanding the emergency department for Austin Hospital in Heidelberg
a new emergency department for Northern Hospital in Epping
expanding the Monash Medical Centre in Clayton
upgrading Dandenong Hospital in Melbourne’s south east
redeveloping Wonthaggi Hospital in regional Victoria.
Delivering new and improved public health infrastructure will help increase access and capacity to vital public health services.
This helps ensure Victorians continue to receive high quality health care, close to home. It also provides improved infrastructure for our health workforce.
Detailed project planning is underway across each site.
