New Ambulatory Care Centre delivered at Northern Hospital
The Northern Hospital Redevelopment celebrates a construction milestone with the completion of a new Ambulatory Care Centre.
This major milestone marks the completion of stage one of the redevelopment of Northern Hospital in Epping.
The new four-storey Ambulatory Care Centre will provide a dedicated space for outpatient and ambulatory services, clinical care and hospital administration with a ground link to the existing facility.
The centre is a dedicated building that will deliver a range of specialist outpatient services, including allied health, pathology, respiratory medicine and dialysis, delivering high quality care without the need for an overnight stay.

With stage one complete, early works are commencing on stage two of the redevelopment which will deliver a new Emergency Department and inpatient unit tower on Cooper Street.
The new emergency department will include a mental health and alcohol and other drugs hub, an emergency observation unit, a dedicated paediatric treatment and waiting zone and new inpatient beds.
Northern Hospital is one of the busiest emergency departments in Victoria and the redevelopment will support the growing health care needs of Melbourne’s north.
Once fully operational, the new emergency department will have almost 200 treatment spaces to support an extra 30,000 emergency patients each year.
