Werribee Mercy Hospital critical care expansion

The $87 million Werribee Mercy Hospital critical care expansion was completed in August 2018.

The expansion aimed to meet increasing demand in Melbourne’s west – one of the nation’s fastest growing communities.

The project added four more levels on top of the existing Catherine McAuley Centre at Werribee Mercy Hospital. It added new inpatient beds, new critical care beds, new operating theatres and a 370-space multi-level carpark.

Broadmeadows Hospital Surgery Centre

The $17.3 million Broadmeadows Hospital Surgery Centre project was completed in 2017. This project was designed to provide access to emergency and elective surgery to meet the growing health and wellbeing needs of the north west.

Upgrades included the addition of two new theatres. The on-site pharmacy and radiology services were also expanded and pathology collection was improved.

Monash Medical Centre emergency department expansion

The Victorian Government invested $76.3 million in the Monash Medical Centre emergency department expansion and traffic improvement project.

The expansion delivered a new emergency department and a dedicated children’s emergency area. This area is designed to provide children with a private, calm and compassionate environment and to help meet increasing demand for paediatric emergency care.

The redevelopment has also improved access for ambulances arriving at the emergency department. This will ensure patients access the vital care they need faster.

Sunshine Hospital emergency department redevelopment

The Victorian Government invested $34.9 million in the Sunshine Hospital emergency department redevelopment.

The project will support the hospital to provide more people in the growing western suburbs with timely and world-class medical care.

The redevelopment has expanded and refurbished the emergency department, adding 65 new spaces - more than doubling current capacity.

Craigieburn Community Hospital

Melton Health and Community Services health hub

The $21 million Melton Health and Community Services health hub was completed in September 2018. It was designed to provide Melton communities with increased access to health, well-being and community services.

The hub has brought together services from Djerriwarrh Health Services, Melbourne Health-Midwest Area Mental Health Service, MacKillop Family Services, cohealth and Odyssey House Victoria.
