Ballarat Base Hospital redevelopment newsletters

The Victorian Government is delivering the $655 million Ballarat Base Hospital redevelopment.

The redevelopment will deliver a new multi-level tower, a new emergency department with an integrated mental health, alcohol and other drugs hub, a new helipad, a new perinatal hub (pregnancy to post-birth services) and an extra 100 inpatient and short stay beds.

A new and expanded critical care floor will bring together a state-of-the-art operating theatre suite, procedure rooms, an expanded intensive care unit, endoscopy suites and consulting rooms. This will deliver capacity for an extra 4,000 surgeries every year.

Construction of the redevelopment is on track for completion in 2027.
